Good production from second baseman Steve Svehla helped the Albuquerque Cacti topple the State College Swallowtails, 5-3. Svehla was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Cacti. Josh Criss picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Justin Vasile was tagged with the loss. Andy Mitchell zipped up his 6th save.

Svehla had a timely hit for Albuquerque in the bottom of the seventh. With Albuquerque trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-2 cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Albuquerque.

"Don't let his youth fool you," said Cacti manager Randy Haynes. "Steve knows what he's doing out there."

Albuquerque now has a record of 35-31 with the win.
