Toreros Stumble, Lose to Hornets
Eureka took on Cabo San Lucas in front of a lively crowd.

The Eureka Hornets powered past the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 8-2, at The Nest. Josh Sweet provided some of the pop. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Sean Davis collected save number 1.

Early in the game, second baseman Brian Carr had a 2-run double for Eureka. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Hornets on top, 2-0.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Carr. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The Toreros, now 6-18, continue their sluggish start.
