Big Day for Haskins as Coal Miners Down Racers, 9-3
With second baseman Nate Haskins leading the charge, the Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Bowling Green Racers, 9-3, at The Coal Mine. Haskins, who is tied for 8th in the TAAA in doubles with 20, went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Antioch starter Omar Hernandez was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 9-3. By defeating Bowling Green, the first-place Coal Miners improved to 44-31.

Kyle Higgins had a big 2-run double for the Coal Miners in the bottom of the second inning. With Antioch leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Giron and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Coal Miners ahead, 4-1.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Antioch manager Jordan Hay.
