Farinas goes 3-for-5, Raiders Move to 42-21
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 26-year old right fielder Luis Farinas, the Reno Raiders stopped the Joplin Fireballs, 8-2, in 9 innings. Reno pitcher Mike Fogle got the win. He's now 5-2. Bernie Rico was tagged with the loss. Reno has an impressive 42-21 record.

With Reno trailing 2-0 in the top of the second, Farinas hit a cutter from Bernie Rico for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Raiders ahead, 3-2.

"Being in first place now is good," said Farinas. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
