Billings Mustangs starter Bobby Avila was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Albany Firebirds, 9-3. The 4th-place Firebirds have dropped 4 straight games.

Billings used a well-timed hit by Benito Gonzales to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Mustangs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Gonzales said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
