Freeze Earn Clutch Win, 6-5
|
The Minneapolis Freeze turned back the Tallahassee Captains, 6-5, at The Carrier Dome. Jeremy Owusu, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Minneapolis pitcher Tommy Cedrone earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. John Wilder suffered the loss. Minneapolis occupies second place in the TML AAA Joe Torre Division at 35-37.
Had Owusu not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Owusu hit a grand slam home run. The Freeze took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
Owusu told a Minneapolis Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
