Swallowtails Get 4-1 Win Versus Baton Rouge
State College and Baton Rouge duked it out and the Swallowtails came out victorious.

State College got a strong outing from Rich Harper as the Swallowtails defeated the Baton Rouge Outlaws, 4-1, at Stars Field. Harper picked up the win for State College, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Jay Clayton.

The Outlaws had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Swallowtails going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder David Ballard came to the plate. Ballard hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Baton Rouge hurler Danny Siwek. It was Ballard's 11th double of the year.

"It was just a matter of executing," said State College manager Afalku Coffie.

The 6th-place Swallowtails now have a record of 29-33.
