The Cozumel Beaches finished off the Calgary Cowboys, 5-3. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Johnny Otteson. Otteson was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Beaches. Steve Lewis went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 6. With the win, he ups his record to 7-2 this season. The win lifted the Cozumel record to 32-29.

Cozumel grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Otteson hit a solo home run off Chad Allred. His 11th home run of the season put the Beaches out in front, 4-3.

"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Cozumel manager Masato Takagi. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
