Marauders Lose to Warriors, 4-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Maple Marauders and Walnut Creek Warriors get after it.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 2063 Rookie of the Year Award winner Bobby Tackman, the Walnut Creek Warriors stopped the Maple Marauders, 4-2, in 9 innings. Matt White, the winner, is now 2-1. He struck out 7 and walked 0 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Russ Gilleo wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
Left Fielder Tony Curiel made an impact for Walnut Creek, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Justin Henley in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Curiel was 1 for 4 with a double.
After the game, Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Marauders, now 9-15, continue their slow start.
