In a tight tilt between Havana and Bighorn, pitcher Israel Velasquez was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-2 Stogies win. The winner was Havana reliever Sam Del Grosso, now 2-0. The loser was Jeff Pritchard. Bighorn drops to 1-2.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Yodo Hamamoto? The 23-year old third baseman Hamamoto stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Havana up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
