Blevins Now 5-1 Following 4-1 Win
|
The Calgary Hitmen got great pitching from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Joe Blevins, allowing them to bump off the Peoria Caterpillars, 4-1. Eric Lewis was called on to finish, recording his 18th save. The first-place Hitmen have won 4 straight games.
Blevins ran roughshod over the Peoria lineup. The left-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 5-1 on the season.
Calgary manager Brandon Ashley commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
