Gremlins Stumble Again, Lose, 7-1
|
Jeff Gifford made an impact in the 7-1 El Paso win over Houghton. Gifford, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL in RBI with 21, went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win lifts El Paso to a record of 11-10.
In the top of the fifth, the Mavericks found themselves in a jam. Houghton had the bases loaded with two out. The score was 4-0, El Paso. Tim Alessio was at the plate, hoping to deal the Mavericks a serious blow. Instead, he grounded out to end the threat.
