Privateers Prevail, 3-2, Over Peoria
|
Not everyone stuck through the 34-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Memphis Privateers earned a close win over the Peoria Caterpillars, thanks in part to Casey Etheredge. The Memphis right-hander, who leads the RAAA in complete games with 3, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. With the win, Memphis upped its record to 31-27.
The Privateers got a big at-bat from left fielder Jon Fregeau. For the game, Fregeau went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Memphis a 3-2 lead.
Fregeau attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
