Benefiting from Tyler Pate's productive game, the Amarillo Armadillos downed the Waimea Wind, 10-0. Pate went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Armadillos. Amarillo pitcher Mark Hartje got the win. He's now 8-3. Dave Ransom was tagged with the loss. The third-place Wind now sit at 37-31.
James Adkinson had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the seventh for Amarillo. With the bases loaded and the Armadillos leading 1-0, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
Armadillos manager Tyler Bulman had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
