The Amarillo Armadillos got a magnificent effort from pitcher Biagio Strambi, who kept Thunder Bay hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Armadillos win at Edgbaston. Amarillo is now 24-33, while Thunder Bay is 32-24.

Amarillo used the hitting of Chris Paterson to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Armadillos on top, 3-0. For the game, Paterson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Makes our job easier," said Paterson, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
