Coulter Launches 2 Dingers, But Fort Worth Wins
Fans watched the Fort Worth Cats and the Calgary Kodiaks fight to the finish.

The Fort Worth Cats weathered a fine game by Calgary shortstop Steven Coulter to upend the Kodiaks, 5-4, at Foothills Stadium. Coulter was 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Eric Engel, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 3.

It could have been a different outcome for Fort Worth, had it not been for Manuel Zumaya, the 28-year old right fielder . Zumaya contributed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put Fort Worth up, 4-0.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Zumaya. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."

The Cats improved their record to 24-38 with the win over Calgary.
