|
Baton Rouge starter Jose Acosta pitched effectively against the Albuquerque Cacti at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Acosta, now 2-7. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Picking up the save was Adam Stoltzfus, his 6th.
Jahiem Parrish hit a run-scoring triple off Bob King in the top of the first, which put the Outlaws in front, 1-0. Parrish had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We'll savor this win," Acosta told the Baton Rouge Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
The Outlaws improved to 29-35.
