Bowling Green designated hitter Alexis Ramon was instrumental in his team's 7-1 win over the Thunder Bay Black Bears. Ramon went 4-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Racers. Chris Sanchez got the win, improving to 3-6. He worked 8.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Bowling Green, at 24-42, occupies 5th place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
Bowling Green used the clutch hitting of Lou Schanowski to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Racers ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said Ramon, "and today was a good one for us."
