Huerfano Excels, Fort Worth Blows Out Fairfield
The Fort Worth Cats clobbered the Fairfield Flash, 13-3, at LaGrave Field. Fort Worth third baseman Orlando Huerfano led the onslaught. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. David Doss, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-5. He pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Cats now own a record of 22-31.

Nick Eichman had a big grand slam home run for the Cats in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Fort Worth leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Kader Teroitich and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Cats on top, 8-1.

Said Fairfield manager Edward Batkin after the blowout loss: "Son of a gun."
