Klar, Kodiaks March to 5-1 Victory
|
The 4-RBI night of first baseman Michael Klar, who is tied for 3rd in the TAAA with a .372 batting average, helped the Calgary Kodiaks triumph, 5-1, over the Joplin Fireballs. The winning pitcher was Roberto Orellana. He's now 7-2. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Kodiaks. Calgary now has a record of 31-23 with the win.
The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Klar hit a grand slam home run off Nate Lefkowitz. It propelled the Kodiaks into the lead, 4-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Calgary skipper Stanley Harvey.
