Kodiaks Axe Hitmen, 7-2
|
The Calgary Kodiaks picked up a win at Mckinley Park, knocking off the Calgary Hitmen, 7-2. Starting pitcher Roberto Orellana played a key role in the triumph. Orellana, who is tied for 10th in the TAAA with a 4.29 ERA, went the distance for Calgary. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. Calgary is now 27-36, while Calgary is 42-20.
Calgary used the hitting of Gavin Lawson to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Kodiaks on top, 4-2. For the game, Lawson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Roberto was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Calgary manager Stanley Harvey. "He did a heck of a job."
