Fans who gathered at Cobb Field saw a good contest between the San Jose Marshals and Billings Mustangs.

The San Jose Marshals racked up a win at Cobb Field, bumping off the Billings Mustangs, 3-1. Scott Ralston, who started for San Jose, pitched effectively for his team. San Jose has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

The Mustangs had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Marshals going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 31-year old right fielder Daniel Cruz came to the plate. Cruz hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 fastball from Billings hurler Dan Fairchild. It was Cruz's 7th double of the year.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Cruz.
