A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Hendersonville Hens and State College Swallowtails.

Good production from first baseman Jason Nies helped the Hendersonville Hens topple the State College Swallowtails, 9-4. Nies went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hens. Cesar Gutierrez, who is tied for 2nd in the RAAA with a 2.24 ERA, was the winner. He's now 4-3. The loser was Mike Lanham.

Steve Bisch aided the Hendersonville cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the first. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a walk.

"I believe in our guys," said Hendersonville skipper Tae-geun Lee. "I like the energy they're playing with."

By defeating State College, the 5th-place Hens improved to 27-28.
