A jubilant Ben Overby joined the postgame press conference at LaGrave Field to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Madison Muskies pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Fort Worth Cats designated hitter, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 20-12 Cats win.

"He made it look easy," said Daniel Breuer, manager of the Muskies. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Ben Overby singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mike Ming in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

To date, Overby has collected 49 hits for a .285 average. He has posted 5 home runs, scored 20 runs and driven in 28 runs.
