Molyneaux Excels, But Armadillos Win
The inspired effort of Thunder Bay third baseman Steve Molyneaux was not enough to prevent a loss, 20-12, to the Amarillo Armadillos. Molyneaux was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Frank Frisby went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the TAAA with a 7.8 K/9 rate, struck out 7 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 7-2 this season. The Armadillos have a winning streak of 5 games.

Matt Griffin had a big grand slam home run for the Armadillos in the bottom of the second inning. With Amarillo leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Jonathan Fairbanks and swatted a home run to left. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Armadillos ahead, 7-2.

Griffin said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
