Fairfield and Forest Acres duked it out at McClure Field and the Flash came out victorious.
The Fairfield Flash topped the Forest Acres Falcons, 6-3, with third baseman Ryan Calcagno playing a big role. Calcagno went 2-4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Flash in the win. The Flash now have a mark of 32-29.
Fairfield used the timely hitting of Marcos Marquez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Flash ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Fairfield manager Kao-tsu Hark.
