Castro goes 3-for-4 as Fireballs Squeeze Past Minneapolis
The Joplin Fireballs trumped the Minneapolis Freeze, 10-9, at The Firepit. Joplin right fielder Tom Castro was terrific. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Bill LaForge wrapped it up, recording his 10th save. By defeating Minneapolis, the 6th-place Fireballs improved to 20-31.

George Morrissey had a big 2-run home run for the Fireballs in the bottom of the first inning. With Joplin trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from former first round draft pick Tommy Cedrone and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Fireballs on top, 2-1.

"Wild game," said Morrissey after it ended.
