In a close game at The Ice Box, the Minneapolis Freeze edged the Fairfield Flash, 3-2. Minneapolis center fielder John Day stood apart with his performance. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Josh Youmans got the win, improving to 3-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Freeze are now 29-30, while the Flash fall to 28-32.

With Minneapolis trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Day hit a fastball from Ed Brereton for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Freeze ahead, 3-2.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Day said.
