The Reno Raiders picked up a win at House of Pain, knocking off the Amarillo Armadillos, 5-4. Starting pitcher Izzy Juarez played a key role in the triumph. Reno reliever Don Townend was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Don Krueger. The 5th-place Armadillos now sit at 21-30.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Reno center fielder Luis Farinas, facing Don Krueger, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Raiders the 5-4 win.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Juarez told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
