In a low-scoring contest between the Fort Worth Cats and the State College Swallowtails, Mike Leach was the X factor. The Fort Worth left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Ethan Pollard, now 5-0, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The 6th-place Swallowtails have lost 6 consecutive games.

Ramon Sandoval drove in one run for Fort Worth. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Justin Vasile. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Sandoval.
