Cacti Squelch Caterpillars Offense in Shutout Win
|
Albuquerque pitcher Alex Caballero did his part in helping his team beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Caballero, now 5-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Caleb Brickhouse earned the save for Albuquerque, his 7th of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jason Chaney? The Albuquerque left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cacti on top, 2-0. For the game, Chaney had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I was talking to myself on the mound, saying 'attack, attack, attack, stay convicted, no matter what,'" said Caballero.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Cacti.
