Ambition Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Joplin

Indianapolis beat Joplin in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Indianapolis pitcher Mario Vasquez did his part in helping his team beat the Joplin Fireballs, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winning pitcher was Vasquez, now 5-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. The save went to Brian Oubre, his 4th this season.
Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Ross Lane to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Ambition ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"This is a very good team," said Lane. "We have the chance to do something special."
Indianapolis has rattled off 4 straight wins.
