Rivera Excels, But Armadillos Win
Though he had a terrific game, Jose Rivera could not prevent his team, the Pasadena Bumblebees, from absorbing a loss. Amarillo won the game, 12-4. Rivera was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Ryan Krahn got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The 5th-place Armadillos improved to 21-29.

Joel Walsh helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Amarillo a 2-0 lead.

"We came out aggressive," said Armadillos manager Tyler Bulman. "We came out swinging the bats."
