The Reno Raiders turned back the Tallahassee Captains, 6-5, at The Carrier Dome. Luis Farinas, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jim Curran was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was former first round draft pick Carlos Sanchez. The save went to Don Townend, his 14th this season.

With Reno leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Farinas hit a fastball from Carlos Sanchez for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Raiders ahead, 5-0.

Afterward, Tallahassee manager Luis Sánchez said: "We've hit a rough patch."
