Hutchinson Helps Hawaii Cruise to 12-3 Win
The Hawaii Honu took on the Huntington Station Ramrods at Aloha Stadium.

Behind a solid performance from shortstop Les Hutchinson, the Hawaii Honu defeated the Huntington Station Ramrods, 12-3. Hutchinson was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Honu. Hawaii pitcher Sal Alvarado got the win, upping his record to 3-0. Raul Frausto got the loss.

The Ramrods had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Honu going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old right fielder Roberto Salgado came to the plate. Salgado hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch cutter from Huntington Station hurler Raul Frausto. It was Salgado's 7th double of the year.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Huntington Station manager Paco Berroa.

Hawaii now has a record of 11-9.
