3-2 Loss Extends Anchorage Skid
The Anchorage Moose were defeated, 3-2, by the Baton Rouge Outlaws at Coca Cola Stadium, even though Steve Carlson pitched well for Anchorage. Steve Simons closed the door for Baton Rouge, picking up his 1st save of the year. Anchorage is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

Carlos Mendoza went 1-4 with a double for Baton Rouge. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Steve Carlson. It was his 18th RBI of the season.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Anchorage manager . "We just didn't cash in."
