The Astoria Argonauts beat the Calgary Kodiaks, 2-1, at Golden Fleece Park. Astoria right fielder Josh Gillispie led the way. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Bobby Matthews notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Allen Justice collected save number 10.

Travis Arant, who is tied for 7th in the TAAA with a .435 on-base percentage, took Calgary hurler Matt Meyer deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Argonauts on top, 2-1. In all, Arant had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"The Argonauts earned it," said Calgary manager Stanley Harvey. "Hats off to them."
