Behind the hitting of Tyler Pate, the Amarillo Armadillos stopped the Waimea Wind, 6-3. Pate went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Armadillos. Arturo Contreras picked up the save, his 1st. The Armadillos sit in 5th place in the TML AAA Joe Torre Division with a record of 19-26.

Amarillo used a well-timed hit by Kevin Shumard to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Armadillos ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Shumard told the Amarillo News. "Whatever it takes."
