Fairfield pitcher Sam Del Grosso did his part in helping his team beat the Amarillo Armadillos, 7-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Del Grosso, now 3-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Flash sit in third place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division with a record of 25-21.

Bobby Trombly had a big 2-run double for the Flash in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Fairfield leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Lake and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flash ahead, 4-1.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Del Grosso told the Fairfield News. "And padding the Fairfield win column."
