Swallowtails Use Late Score to Top Captains, 3-2
|
Hurler Alex Estrada gave the State College Swallowtails a solid start. The native of Ranchuelo, Villa Clara helped his team defeat the Tallahassee Captains, 3-2, at The Carrier Dome. The setback makes Tallahassee 29-23.
State College used the timely hitting of Herberto Tonilhas to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Swallowtails on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Afterward, Swallowtails manager Afalku Coffie said, "We had some good at-bats, some big at-bats in some key situations."
