Guillermo Castorena was superb against Fort Worth. The right-hander, who leads the TAAA with a 10.8 K/9 rate, had a knuckleball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 4-3 Argonauts victory. Earning his 1st save for Astoria was Ramón Martínez. Astoria is now 30-21.

The outcome might have been different for Astoria, had it not been for Bobby Vargas, the 27-year old shortstop . Vargas stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Astoria up, 4-0. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Vargas said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
