Despite a great performance by Peoria catcher Bryan Criner, the Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Caterpillars by the score of 6-4 at Excavatar Park. Criner was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Joe Gentile, the winner, is now 6-2. He struck out 2 and walked 3 over 8 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Picking up his 2nd save was fireballing left-hander Ethan Howell.

Mike Young went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Antioch. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Chris Moore. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

Antioch manager Jordan Hay commended his team for "banging out a nice win."

Antioch currently is in first place in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League at 30-20.
