The Fairfield Flash beat the Minneapolis Freeze, 4-3, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Fairfield first baseman Scott Kirkpatrick had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Fairfield reliever Tony Mireles picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Matthew Otto was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Flash improved to 34-10.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Fairfield. That's when 23-year old left fielder Jason Hinch hit a run-scoring double off Matthew Otto to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Kirkpatrick said.
