del Toro Leads Charge, Fairfield Blasts Swallowtails
Fairfield center fielder Edwin del Toro had a 4-RBI game, leading his team in its 13-3 defeat of the State College Swallowtails. del Toro picked up 1 single and 2 doubles in the ballgame. Picking up the win was Oscar Aviles. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3. Esteban Castaneda recorded the save, his 2nd.

Fairfield won the game in part because of Lee Barnard. The second baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Flash ahead, 5-2. For the game, Barnard had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.

Fairfield manager Chris Schmidt was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The 5th-place Flash sport a record of 19-30.
