|
The Detroit Death Stars picked up a win at The Death Star, knocking off the Forest Acres Falcons, 5-4. Starting pitcher Bernard Young, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Dave Sheldon earned the save for Detroit, his 9th. Detroit has a 3-game win streak, while Forest Acres has lost 3 in a row.
Had Tomas Robles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Robles hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Death Stars.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Robles said.
