Stars Field played host to some exciting baseball.

The inspired effort of Waimea shortstop William Avila was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-6, to the State College Swallowtails. Avila was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Matt York earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1.

State College got a clutch hit from Chris Lewis. The center fielder launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"I'm glad I got one I could handle. Glad I got the barrel on it," said Lewis.

State College has rattled off 4 straight wins.
