Despite a fine performance by right fielder Luis Farinas, the Thunder Bay Black Bears lost to the Calgary Cowboys, 6-5. Farinas went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Alberto Ponce recorded the save for Calgary, his 2nd of the season. With the win, Calgary raised its record to 26-19.

It could have been a different outcome for Calgary, had it not been for Miguel Dorta, the 25-year old center fielder . Dorta contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Calgary up, 6-5.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Dorta.
