The Calgary Kodiaks went down to defeat to Norbert Philips and his Antioch teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Coal Miners. Philips, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Luis Hernandez picked up the save, his 8th.
The Coal Miners grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth. With no one out, Kevin Stafford hit a solo home run off Javier Sánchez, putting Antioch in front, 3-1. For Stafford, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
Calgary manager Stu Yarbrough said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Antioch has now won 4 straight, while the Kodiaks have lost 4 in a row.
