Caterpillars Pocket 6-4 Win Against Albuquerque
|
Albuquerque third baseman Kyle Sells had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Sells was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Peoria beat the Cacti, 6-4. The winning pitcher was Chris Moore. He's now 3-0. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits for the Caterpillars. The Caterpillars improved to 28-10.
Peoria took a 6-2 lead on Ryan Stagg's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Stagg hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Albuquerque pitcher Andy Mitchell visibly frustrated.
"I thought we competed really well," said Caterpillars manager Scott Andrews. "I thought the energy was really good."
