The Thunder Bay Black Bears took Reno pitcher Jonathan Hogle's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Edgbaston. The final score had Thunder Bay getting past the Raiders, 4-1. Hogle went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 6. Dan Harold wrapped it up, recording his 10th save. The Black Bears are now 22-15, while the Raiders fall to 27-11.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from second baseman Omar Diaz. For the game, Diaz went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Thunder Bay a 4-1 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Diaz told the Thunder Bay Citizen.
