The Havana Stogies handed the West Island Jazz a 6-5 defeat at The Humidor. First Baseman Tommy Ivester starred for Havana. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. The win leaves Havana with a record of 10-11.

Dave Hackett had a big solo home run for the Stogies in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Havana leading 5-3 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Manny Domenech, who finished 5th in the RCL in wins with 16 last year, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Stogies on top, 6-3.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Ivester said.
