The Minneapolis Freeze had to overcome a fine effort from Pasadena pitcher Gary Mims to win, 5-4, at The Ice Box. Mims went 9 innings and allowed 4 runs. With this game in the books, Minneapolis is 19-17, Pasadena 22-15.

The decisive blow was delivered by John Bernstein in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ben Sylvester to win the game for Minneapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Bernstein. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
